ELGA – electronic health records
ELGA establishes an electronic network of important health data generated in the health care system.
The ELGA information system enables all Austrians to access the ELGA data stored by various health care providers, regardless of location and time. If required, access is also available to doctors, pharmacies, hospitals or care facilities providing treatment or care.
Joint success project
ELGA is a joint project of the federal government, all nine states and the Central Association of Austrian Social Insurance Authorities. The BRZ coordinates all necessary tasks and measures that ensure stable, secure and efficient operation of the components, especially the ELGA authorisation system. This includes operational planning and control, operational safety and the coordination of commercial and legal aspects of operational management.
