100 opportunities in IT: female migrants visit the BRZ

07. December 2022

33 well-qualified female migrants visited the BRZ as part of the ÖIF campaign "KOMPASS - 100 Women, 100 Opportunities". The focus was on the IT professions and on career options at the BRZ.

On December 6, participants of the professional integration program of the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) visited the BRZ. As the IT market leader in the public sector and a competence center for digitization in federal administration, the BRZ offers a variety of exciting job opportunities – from traineeships to senior positions. As part of a company presentation in the BRZ Innovation Factory, the visitors were not only able to learn about the main areas of work at the BRZ, but also received information about the recruiting process, career options and internal training opportunities. All women will also have the opportunity to have personal conversations with female executives of the BRZ as well as experts from different departments and exchange information about different job profiles.

The BRZ is constantly on the lookout for talented people who want to use their (IT) skills for meaningful work. Our goal is not only to further raise the quota of women at the BRZ, as a responsible company in the public sector we also focus on diversity and equal opportunities. As a broad-based full-service provider for IT solutions, we also offer career changers exciting job prospects and provide a wide range of up to date training courses on various IT topics and technologies," says Myriam Mokhareghi, HR Department Head at the BRZ.

Seray Morkoc, Head of Human Resources and Finance at ÖIF: "As a point of contact for immigrants in Austria, the ÖIF is a diverse organization: its employees come from more than 40 different cultural backgrounds and can use a high number of different languages in their daily work. 7 out of 10 employees at ÖIF are female, including among executives. With the KOMPASS program, we support female migrants with valuable qualifications as they enter the workforce, especially in future-oriented industries such as IT. We are excited to have the BRZ as a partner in KOMPASS!"

BRZ focuses on CSR in recruiting as well as training and continuing education

The BRZ employs around 1,600 people in Vienna. Social responsibility is reflected throughout the entire employee life cycle and begins in the early career stage: the BRZ offers excellent apprenticeship training to career starters and trains experts in the trainee programs. The company also offers specialists exciting opportunities for development: through training courses, career programs and deployment in exciting projects. Close cooperation with the Employment Service (AMS) and support initiatives for skilled workers from a wide variety of backgrounds also opens doors for people with non-linear CVs. State of the art training and certifications supported by the BRZ lay the foundation for long-term collaboration. The BRZ has also been ranked first in the BestRecruiters industry rankings for IT/software/telecom for three years in a row. Austrian citizenship is not a mandatory requirement for starting a career at the BRZ, but a good knowledge of German is necessary.

About the KOMPASS Campaign – 100 Women, 100 Opportunities

As part of the program, 105 participants are currently being supported for six months by experts in identifying and taking advantage of their opportunities on the Austrian labor market. The immigrant women receive job application training and individual coaching and participate in seminars. Renowned companies, including the BRZ, support the program and offer opportunities to gain experience in the Austrian labor market and to establish contacts and networks through company visits, job interviews or internships.
